SPC and luxury vinyl plank
SPC (stone-plastic composite) is the rigid-core version of luxury vinyl plank, and it is what most Las Vegas kitchens, rentals and pet households end up comparing first. Posted starting price: $4.83/sq ft installed, or $1.38/sq ft for material only.
The plank itself is waterproof, which is why it suits kitchens, baths and homes with pets. A spill that runs under the perimeter, a leak, or moisture rising out of the slab is a different problem: it still needs drying out, because waterproof planks don't turn the finished floor into a moisture barrier.
What moves the price: the wear-layer thickness, whether a pad is attached, plank size, and how much the slab needs flattening before a click-lock floor can float on it. Browse SPC vinyl plank at Vegas Flooring Outlet.
Laminate
Posted starting price: $5.13/sq ft installed, $1.88/sq ft material only. Laminate has a wood-based core under a hard, printed top layer. It feels firm, resists scratches well and looks convincingly like wood.
The trade-off is water. Many lines are sold as water-resistant, which buys time to wipe up spills; a core that soaks up standing water can swell. In dry bedrooms and living areas that matters less.
Porcelain and ceramic tile
Posted starting price: $6.28/sq ft installed, the highest of the four, because setting tile is slower, skilled work: mortar, spacing, grout and cure time. The $1.28/sq ft material figure is a sale price VFO posts on two 24×24 porcelain tiles.
Tile shrugs off heat, water and heavy traffic, which is why so many valley homes already have it. Large-format tile needs a flatter slab than small tile, and that prep is quoted separately.
Carpet
Posted starting price: $2.48/sq ft installed, $1.28/sq ft material only. Carpet has the lowest posted starting rate of the four, and it is the softest, quietest choice for bedrooms. Pad quality, fiber and stairs move the price more than the room size does.
Hardwood
VFO doesn't post a hardwood price online, so this site doesn't show one. Quoted after your free in-home measure. If you love the look of wood but want something waterproof over a slab, compare SPC samples side by side with real wood before deciding.
What moves a Las Vegas flooring price
- What comes out first. Carpet pulls up quickly; tile bonded to a slab has to be broken out and the thinset ground down. See the costs quotes leave out.
- The slab. Most valley homes sit on concrete. Dips, cracks and moisture have to be handled before a new floor goes down.
- Layout. Many small rooms, closets, angles and diagonal patterns mean more cuts and more extra material.
- Stairs and trim. Stairs are quoted separately at the measure, and new baseboards or quarter-round are a separate line.
- The product tier. The starting prices above are the entry point; thicker wear layers and premium visuals cost more.
